Lance’s Story
A proud sixth-generation Calgarian, Lance Hamilton grew up on the west end's outskirts, where his love for music was nurtured by his parents Molly and Shawn—both fixtures in Calgary's vibrant music scene. For over 14 years, Molly served as the official entertainer for the Calgary Stampede, while Shawn co-founded the Prime Time Big Band, the renowned house band at the Ironwood in Inglewood.
Lance’s passion for live music began early, often choosing concerts as his go-to outing with friends. This naturally led to a love for bringing music home. While living with childhood friends, Lance helped create a garage recording studio dubbed the "Lance Hamilton Deepspace Research Center" in their famous "916" garage. The studio became a hub for local Calgary artists, with multiple album and LP credits to its name.
Today, Lance and his girlfriend Kathryn are familiar faces at Calgary’s music venues, festivals like Sled Island and Folk Fest, and iconic spots like the Palomino, where he enjoys catching live performances and connecting with friends.
When he’s not immersed in music, Lance spends his time mountain biking and snowboarding across the Canadian Rockies with his sister Kate, and close friends. A lifelong enthusiast, he grew up racing in 4x, dual slalom, and downhill disciplines and continues to compete in races. His love for the outdoors also takes him frequently to British Columbia, where he enjoys some of the best riding trails in the region.
After nearly two decades in the bike industry, Lance transitioned to the hi-fi world, joining our team in 2024 and bringing his passion for quality and performance audio. We’re thrilled to have him on board!
